Bret Thixton, a sophomore of Riverton, is serving as preisdent of Colleges Against Cancer at IC, president of the sophomore class, and treasurer of Student Forum at Illinois College for the 2011-2012 academic year.

The purpose of this group is to foster a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty and staff dedicated to eliminating cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society at Illinois College.

The Student Forum acts as a representative of the student body and works to promote the best interest of the students. The Forum proposes policy on campus and presents information to college administration and the Board of Trustees.

Thixton, a graduate of Riverton High School, is the son of Jerry and Song Thixton of Riverton.
