Briana Peper Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College

Briana Peper of Illiopolis was among the students at Illinois College recognized for academic excellence April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Honors Day Celebration.

Peper, a junior, was awarded the Dr. Fred E. Deatherage Memorial Scholarship and inducted into Psi Chi. The Dr. Fred E. Deatherage Memorial Scholarship is presented to a student entering the junior year majoring in biology or chemistry. Psi Chi is the psychology national honors society with the goal of stimulating, maintaining, and encouraging excellence within the field of psychology.

Peper, a graduate of Sangamon Valley High School, is the daughter of Jerry and Wendy Peper of Illiopolis.
