Jacob Phillips Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College

Jacob Phillips of Golden was among the students at Illinois College recognized for academic excellence April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Honors Day Celebration.

Phillips, a junior, was awarded the Ts'ing-Hi Tong Computer Science Award. This award is presented to a promising junior whose major in computer science has been solidly established.

Phillips, a graduate of Camp Point Central High School, is the son of Duane and Debra Phillips of Golden.

Founded in 1829, Illinois College is a residential liberal arts college fostering academic excellence rooted in opportunities for experiential learning while preparing students for lifelong success.
