Kelly McCormick Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College

Kelly McCormick of Godfrey was among the students at Illinois College recognized for academic excellence April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Honors Day Celebration.

McCormick, a sophomore, was awarded the Wilma Leslie Garnett Endowed Scholarship and the David S. Watson History Award. The Wilma Leslie Garnett Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a student entering the junior year who has proven scholarship in English literature. The David S. Watson History Award is presented to an outstanding sophomore majoring in history or history and political science.

McCormick, a graduate of Alton High School, is the daughter of James and Cynthia McCormick of Godfrey.
