Lauren Reece Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College

Lauren Reece of Lombard was among the students recognized April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Celebration of Excellence, a daylong celebration that allowed students and faculty to take part in activities that commend academic excellence, a hallmark of the college since its founding in 1829.
Reece, a graduate, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, awarded the Joe Patterson Smith Memorial Scholarship, and inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta. Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest and most prestigious honorary college society. It recognizes the highest scholastic distinction by electing members from among the leading candidates for college degrees in the liberal arts and sciences. Awarded to an outstanding senior major(s) in the department. Alpha Kappa Delta is the Sociology national honor society.
Reece, a graduate of Glenbard East High School, is the daughter of William and Janet Reece of Lombard.
