Logan Giesing to Perform in IC TheatreWorks Production

2011 Oct 27

Logan Giesing, a sophomore from Quincy, will perform in the upcoming Illinois College TheatreWorks production of "SnapShot."

Actors Theatre of Louisville decided to bring together 17 contemporary playwrights and have them each contribute a monologue or scene to a new play based on a single image: photographer Lee Friedlander's Mount Rushmore, South Dakota, 1969. The result is "Snapshot," a work at once funny, surprising, creative, poignant and delightful, according to Nancy Taylor Porter, associate professor of theatre at Illinois College and director of the production.

Giesing, a graduate of Quincy High School, is one of 11 students at Illinois College who will fill prominent roles in the play by Tanya Barfield, Lee Blessing and Michael Bigelow Dixon.

Performances will be held in McGaw Fine Arts Center's Sibert Theatre on October 28 and 29, and November 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m., as well as November 6 at 2 p.m. For tickets, contact the IC TheatreWorks box office at 217.245.3471.
