Nathan Zimmerman Awarded Full Tuition Scholarship at Illinois College

2012 Apr 11

The Illinois College Office of Admission has named Nathan Zimmerman a 2012 Trustee Scholar at Illinois College. This award, which includes a full-tuition scholarship, is the highest honor the liberal arts college in Jacksonville, Illinois, can bestow upon an incoming student.

Zimmerman of Mt. Sterling, is one of only five prospective Illinois College students to be selected for the full-tuition scholarship. A comprehensive review of each student's application for admission, including G.P.A., course selection, class rank, personal statement and letters of recommendation, was used in selecting the top students to interview for these prestigious awards. Interviews took place on campus in February.

Trustee Scholarships are made possible by the Donald E. Kolmer Endowed Scholarship Fund, as well as other donations from trustees and friends of Illinois College. Dr. Kolmer graduated from Illinois College in 1952 and went on to attend dental school at the University of Illinois. He was a long-time supporter of the college as president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and a member of Illinois College Board of Trustees.

Founded in 1829, Illinois College is a residential liberal arts college fostering academic excellence rooted in opportunities for experiential learning while preparing students for lifelong success.
