Nicholas Hommowun Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College

Nicholas Hommowun of Hoffman Estates was among the students at Illinois College recognized for academic excellence April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Honors Day Celebration.

Hommowun, a first-year student, was awarded the Thomas Smith Prize in Mathematics. This prize is given to a first-year and sophomore student showing the greatest promise in mathematics.

Hommowun, a graduate of Hoffman Estates High School, is the son of Christopher and Jo Ellen Hommowun of Hoffman Estates.
