Ross Barker Earns Prestigious Academic Award at Illinois College

Ross Barker of Freeport was among the students at Illinois College recognized for academic excellence April 27 when the liberal arts college held its annual Honors Day Celebration.
Barker, a junior, was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta and awarded Ruth Melville Bellatti Music Honor Scholarship. Lambda Pi Eta is a national honor society for students in communication studies. The Ruth Melville Bellatti Music Honor Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in music performance and scholarship.
Barker, a graduate of Orangeville High School, is the son of Linda Barker of Freeport and Creighton Barker of Orangeville.
