Tyler Gillson Completed IMEA Workshop at Illinois College

Tyler Gillson of Staunton recently participated in a choral workshop on the Illinois College campus. The workshop helped prepare high school music students to compete in the annual Illinois Music Educators Association All-District Competition.

The Staunton High School student was one of approximately 200 students from 22 area high schools to attend the workshop on the liberal arts college campus on September 20. The students rehearsed in large groups and sectionals, observed mock auditions, and learned tips for successful district and state auditions. This is the second year the Illinois College Department of Music has sponsored the event.
